Our Church Logo- An Update

Dear Gracians,

Thank you for being a part of the process of indicating your views regarding our church logo, in the light of our Jubilee this year. As a recap, the purpose of the exercise is to help us review the key components of our church through the logo, namely, the foundation of Christ and His Word & the indwelling of the Spirit. It was also meant to promote greater unity & anticipation among us as the Lord leads us to make further progress as a church.

We have collected the responses from the different groups

Among English service members, 33 were in favour of the refresh and 22 preferred retaining the current logo. Among Chinese service members, 16 were in favour of the refresh and 21 preferred retaining the current logo. Total: 49 (refresh): 43 (retention). We also asked the English service younger non-communicant members, majority of them were in favour of updating our logo (8 for refresh, 1 for retention).

While there is a simple majority for the refreshing of the church logo, we have also heard & understood the sentiments and concerns raised by all of you. After much deliberation, the Session and Jubilee committee think that it is best that we will go ahead to refresh the logo with the following considerations as suggested by some members:

1. Enlist the help of a professional designer to help us with the refresh, on a pro-bono basis (if possible).

2. Try to retain most of the “look and feel” of the current logo but refresh it by addressing some of the concerns of the current logo.

3. Pace out the process over the next few months so that members have time to think and pray over how the logo can best represent our church. God willing, we can finalise our logo design by August 2026.

It is our prayer that this exercise will garner our involvement rather than to polarize us to different factions in the church as we think about our Jubilee, the Great Reset in Christ

For those of you who have opted to retain the current church logo, we seek your understanding for the refresh of the logo for the sake of love of Christ and the unity of the Spirit in our church.
