Feeding Four Thousand (Mark 8:1-10)
Christ, the living bread from heaven, nourishes all who come to Him, be they Jew or Gentile, and this is illustrated for us in Jesus' ministry by His multiplication of bread for both Jews and Gentiles (Mark 8:1–10; see John 6:22–59). Yet though as God's people we are sustained by Jesus Himself, we are often slow of heart to believe Him. That is illustrated for us as well in today's passage, as the disciples are perplexed as to how Jesus will feed the people even though they should have known better, having seen Jesus earlier feed the five thousand (Mark 8:4). Like the disciples, we are too quick to focus on present obstacles and view them as impossible even though we have seen God do mighty things in the past.
Coram Deo
Sometimes we find ourselves doubting the Lord's concern for us and His ability to meet our needs. If we were to remember what He has done for us, particularly in rescuing us from sin when we were hopelessly lost, we would find ourselves more apt to trust that He will provide. Think on what the Lord has done for you, and trust that He will come through again because He loves you.

BPCIS UPDATE
Praise God for the 15th Anniversary Service last Saturday (19 September) where 12 member churches and 3 observer churches came together at Zion Bishan BP Church to remember God’s faithfulness. Guest speaker Pastor Tan Ye Peng spoke on “Strengthen One Another” from Luke 22.31-32. The offering of $45,688 launched the Endowment Fund.
BPCIS ENDOWMENT FUND.
Convicted by God’s Word to honour God’s servants and provide for them, and convinced that God’s ministry deserves the best of our men and women to serve and grow God’s Church, we dedicate the BPCIS Endowment Fund as our “five loaves and two fishes” to multiply financial resources for the personnel needs of our churches.
For a church with limited resources, the Endowment Fund will contribute up to 40% of BPCIS benchmarked salaries for pastoral and administrative personnel, for up to three years. With the goal to raise $6 million, a principal sum to be preserved, the investment returns of 3-5% annually will serve this purpose for God’s kingdom and to His glory.
