TASSELS OF
GARMENT
Do you know that there is
the Tassel of Garment worn by the Israelis today. I took a photo
of some Jews in Jerusalem with the Tassel. The small tassel on
the edge of the clothes was commanded by God for the Israelites
to remember to obey His Commandments.
Duet 22: 12, 12 (ESV) "You shall make yourself tassels on
the four corners of the garment with which you cover yourself."
Number 15: 38-40 (ESV) "Speak to the people of Israel, and
tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout
their generations, and to put a cord of blue on the tassel of
each corner. And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember
all the commandments of the LORD, to do them, not to follow after
your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore
after. So you shall remember and do all my commandments, and be
holy to your God."
This is also sawn on the edge of the prayer shawls. This is the
fringe or the edge of the cloak of Jesus that the woman suffering
from a disease touched it as described in the Gospels of Matt
9: 20; Mark 5: 27; Luke 8: 44.
As a Rabbi, Jesus wore tassels on the corners of His garment.
It is interesting that most conservative Israelis today have tassel
on their clothings. This is a common sight at the Western Wall
of Jerusalem.
