Why can't I have everyone as a friend?

"And after 6 days, Jesus taketh with him Peter, James & John, & leadeth them up into a high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them".

There are too many kids and not enough time for you to be a good friend to everyone. Actually, there are many different kinds of friendships. Some friends who are very close will be your very good friends. Some kids, however, you will just know by name-they are called acquaintances. Even if you don't know someone's name, you can be friendly to that person. It's good to like everybody and be friendly, but don't expect everyone to like you the same way and to be really close friends. Friendship takes time.

Be friendly with everyone, but work at having a few very close friends. Keep in mind that even Jesus, who loved everyone, had just 3 very special friends-Peter, James and John. Jesus will guide you to the friends who will be the most fun and helpful to be with.

Think of your 3 closest friends. Pray for them right now, Then write them each a note, thanking them for friendship.
