CAMPER TESTIMONY
Clearly God was present in
all of Dr Harding's messages as I personally knew of the hearts
that have been changed to repentance.
What was present there was a strong reminder from God for his
people to embrace the 8 characteristics (ethical they may seem
for some) that are required of those who want to enroll for entry
to the kingdom of God, one example is simply to hunger and thirst
for righteousness.
In a corrupt world that we are faced with daily, in almost everything
that we see are mere facades of the real thing and many compromises
have been made to the ethical values of old. Such values of old
that were being taught to us by our forefathers have long been
eroded over the centuries, slowly but surely. Some teachings from
our forefathers like meekness, humility, honoring one's words
etc are values that were being taught to us during our childhood
days but these are rarely seen to be embraced by our younger generations
these days.
But Christians who are called to be the salt of the earth (i.e.
having to show the distinction between the fallen world and themselves)
are once again reminded not to lose their saltiness and blend-in
too well with the World. Let us be united and be salty again starting
from the 8 characteristics of the citizens to the kingdom of God
that we have learned from Dr Harding's messages.
Many a times, in my daily walk, I have tried to subtly reiterate
some of such characteristics to those around me, but such are
usually not well received or not received at all. Perhaps, it
was due to the setting present then or the manner of its delivery.
But in a 'close to perfect' setting that God had permitted (i.e.
in a function room of Cititel, Penang quiet and still) the message
was delivered before many by an eloquent speaker from the US and
it was well received. I can see that God had provided the camp
committee, the venue, the timing, the speaker and the audience
and everything was planned according to his perfect will.
I wish to thank the camp speaker and the camp committee for the
work well done.

CHILDREN'S TESTIMONY
"But grow in grace,
and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. . ."
2 Peter 3:18
Camp 2010's theme was "Citizens of Heaven" for the adult
program. The children's program was conducted at the same time
with the same theme. Am thankful to church members who prayed
as well as volunteered to help out in the children's program.
The Lord really helped with the preparations. Within a very short
time, I was able to find a set of appropriate material entitled,
"Honoring God: 5 lessons on the Crowns." (This material
was used by Grace BPC for her VBS session many years ago.) The
night sessions focused on a set of material entitled, "A
Child of the King." Review games as well as art and craft
activities were included to reinforce the lessons taught. One
session on "How to Share the Gospel to Your Friends Using
the Wordless book" was also conducted. Six children attended
the program. May the Lord use the sessions conducted during the
camp to help the children grow in their relationship with Him.
Below are just some of the children's testimonies.
"Hana learned that people that have suffered for Christ received
the Crown of Life. In the camp, she can make friends with others.
She likes the arts and crafts lesson and games.
Martin learned that Jesus has died for us all and about the five
crowns. Martin likes the arts and crafts and games. Can play together
with other children."
Sis Ang Liang on behalf of her two children.
"One of the things Aunty Hannah taught us was the ' Five
Crowns'. The five crowns are: The Incorruptible Crown, The Crown
of Rejoicing, The Crown of Glory, The Crown of Life and lastly,
The Crown of Righteousness. The Incorruptible Crown is given to
those who exercise self-control in all things or victoriously
run the race of life. The Crown of Rejoicing is given to those
who lead others to faith in Jesus Christ.
Aunty Hannah also taught us some verses. 2 Peter 3:18 says, "But
grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ." Aunty Hannah did some art and craft with us like
fridge magnets and bookmarks, which I enjoyed. She also taught
us how to use the Wordless Book and I plan to use it to share
the gospel with my friends when I go back to school.
I really enjoyed this year's church camp as what Aunty Hannah
taught me was very useful and I can know God better!!"
