Where does the money I give to Church go?

"Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel".
I Corinthians 9 : 14

It goes to the church's bank account, where it stays until the church treasurer writes checks to pay for all the church's expenses. The church has to pay for the building, heat, light, phone bills, postage, Sunday school supplies, pastors' salaries, staff salaries, missions and other expenses. Some people send their gifts to church in the mail or drop them by the church office. Most people put their money in the offering bag when it is passed during the church service every Sunday. After every offering, the money is collected, counted and deposited in a bank.

A gift to God's people is a gift to God. Give because you are thankful for all God has given you, and He will take care of you.

ACTIVITY
It is good to be a responsible and cheerful giver. Buy a small notebook and make it your "God's Money Record". Write down the date and amount of your offering each week (or month, if you decide to give once a month). Make sure you increase your giving as your allowance goes up. Use the notebook as a reminder to give your offering.
