PRAY
FOR THOSE WHO SERVE THE LORD
BEYOND OUR SHORES
[16/7/2010 PM 8:51:23] - This morning
we lost another child. She died of measles. Since I came back
total we lost 3 babies and 1 child. Pls pray, particularly the
person in-charge of this child, she has tried her best in caring
for this child, she is very much reproach herself for her death.
She is one of the family. My home is ok ..just that the children
is so prone to injuries. Within 2 weeks I have 2 children having
to go to hospital for stitches due to deep cut. One broke a
glass on the door and cut his arm and another got push down
by two children and broke his crown.
Missions is never easy! Those
of us who have been through it will understand the difficulties
and struggles one faces in the field. We face loneliness as we
are away from home, loved ones, home church and Christian friends.
It is difficult too as we live in a different culture and environment.
As Christians, we have to obey our Lord's Great Commission and
go to the lost and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. (Mark
16 : 15).
Are you willing to go for the Lord? Would you be willing to give
1 or 2 years of your life to serve the Lord in a mission field.
Many Christians are going for short mission trips, like 5 to 10
days. What can you really see and learn in these short trips?
I spent one year with Operation Mobilisation (OM) in 1974-5 and
it was an experience I have not forgotten. I spent six months
in India travelling in an OM truck going from one state to another
doing open air preaching and encouraging the Christians.
Thank God for Bro James Tan who is now with OMF on a short term
mission of six weeks. He has been learning many wonderful and
personal spiritual lessons from the Lord.
Do not be afraid to serve the Lord in the mission field because
our Lord promises He will be with the missionary (Matt 28: 20).
You will experience His presence, protection and provision in
the field!
