How will
I know what I want to do
when I grow up?
"If any of you lack wisdom,
let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth
not; and it shall be given him".
James 1 : 5
It is good to think about
what you want to do when you grow up. God has made you good at
doing certain things. He has given you talents, interests and
abilities. As you get older, you will learn more and more about
your abilities. Your parents and other people who know you well
will help you uncover and develop your talents.
But don't wait for them to tell you what to do. Whenever you get
interested in something or do well in something, keep working
at it. Find out more about about it. Ask questions about it. Read
books about it. Take an extra class. Ask God to guide you and
give you a desire to keep learning. God has a plan for your life.
He created you and loves you. He knows exactly what you will be
best at and enjoy most and where you fit in his plan. Keep asking
God to direct you, and he will do it.
ACTIVITY
Today's Bible verse is a great one to memorize. Write out the
verse on an index card, including the Bible reference. Keep the
card with you and learn it by heart. God will help you keep this
truth in your heart the rest of your life! And he will give you
this wisdom whenever you ask for it.
