RELIVING PAUL'S MISSIONARY JOURNEY
AND
THE SEVEN CHURCHES OF ASIA
Turkey 2011

Grace Bible-Presbyterian Church is planning a Bible study tour to Turkey in March 2011. The land of Turkey is considered one of the Bible lands. The apostle Paul traveled through this land in his three missionary journeys (Book of Acts). Jesus Christ, our Lord, spoke of the seven Churches of Asia in Turkey (Rev 2-3). The Early Church also had some of the church fathers from this land. One of them was Polycarp who served as bishop of Smyrna. Istanbul was called Constantinople, and some of Christendom's greatest Creeds (Nicene Creed, Chalcedon Creed, Athanasian Creed) originated from this land.

The tour to Turkey would cover biblical sites like Ephesus (Acts 18-20 and the Book of Ephesians), Laodicea (Rev. 3), Pergamum/Bergama (Rev. 2), Philadelphia/Alasehir (Rev. 3), Sardis/Sart (Rev. 3), Smyrna/Izmir (Rev. 2). We will be taking a domestic flight to as far as the Eastern part of Turkey to see the birth place of Paul, Tarsus. (The apostle Paul was born in Tarsus and seemed to be proud of his birthplace. In Jerusalem, as he was being arrested, Saint Paul told the tribune: "I am a Jew and a citizen of the well-known city of Tarsus in Cilicia"). We would also cover biblical sites like Cappadocia, Hatay (biblical Antioch), Konya (Iconium) etc.

Come to Turkey and let the Bible come alive and relive the biblical accounts of Paul and the Words of our Saviour.
