Why hasn't God told us when
Jesus is coming back?

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no,
not the angels of heaven, but my Father only".
Matthew 24 : 36

Jesus promised his disciples (and us) that He would return to earth some day. But when they asked the dates for different events, Jesus told them, "They are not for you to know" (Acts 1 : 7). Rather than be concerned with the time when Jesus will return, we should always live as though he will return at any moment. In other words, we should always do what is right and tell others about the salvation God offers everyone through Jesus. Although God has never said exactly when Christ will return, he did say that certain things would take place first. One of these is that Christ will not come back until the gospel has been preached to the whole world.

God has promised that Jesus will return, and every day that passes is a day closer to his return. If Jesus came back today, would you be ready?

ACTIVITY
Read all about it! Actually, why not write all about it? Work with a couple of your friends or family members to create a newspaper telling about Jesus. Call it "The Good News Paper" (the word gospel means "good news"). Write some news stories about Jesus and the disciples. Illustrate the stories with your own drawings.
