OUR 34TH ANNIVERSARY

"We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out. For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them".
Ps. 44: 1-3

The history of Grace Church is a story of God's grace. We did not spend a single cent to obtain this property. It was simply handed over to us, by the late Dr. Tow Siew Ai. We cannot forget her graciousness in giving us this building. Today, many churches are without their own buildings. We have our own church building. We are indeed blessed of the Lord. We can only echo the words of the Psalmist in Ps. 44: 3 "… because thou has a favour unto them." This is God's wonderful grace towards us by bestowing His favour upon us with this sanctuary. Our hearts are filled with joy and gratefulness to the Lord.

As we acknowledge the grace of God upon our Church, we must not forget to be a thankful people and take this building for granted. Thus far, the Lord is good to preserve our work. We want to continue to be a Light House for the Lord here as long as He sees fit. Let us, as a Church, be faithful to Jesus and His precious Word. Let us take every opportunity to witness for our Lord fervently.

How many more years do we have to serve the Lord? As long as Grace Church stands here, there is a witness for the Lord in this part of our nation. I believe that "he who has begun a good work in us will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Phil. 1: 6). If His presence is not with us, we will echo the words of Moses "carry us not up from here." (Ex. 33: 15).

May the Lord be with us and our guide through another year of service.
