Does God have a sense of humour?

"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones".
Proverbs 17 : 22

Yes. One clue that God has a sense of humour is that people love to laugh. Genesis 1 : 26-27 says that God created people in his image. This means that in many ways we are like God-and He is like us. So if we have a sense of humour, God probably does, too. What's more, God's Word refers quite a bit of joy, happiness and laughter. "Sarah declared, 'God has brought me laughter!' '' (Genesis 21 : 6); "We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy" (Psalm 126 : 2). It is clear that God wants His people to enjoy life.

But the fact that God has a sense of humour doesn't means that He enjoys everything we think is funny. Some people are cruel with their humour. They laugh when people are hurt or make fun of others. That is wrong. You should laugh with people, not at them. Tell good jokes, laugh, enjoy life-God wants you to be filled with joy.
