Why do I feel afraid if Jesus is with me?

"Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all."
II Thessalonians 3 : 16

Jesus is always with us. But we need to learn to trust him, to believe and know that He is there. It's natural to feel afraid. In fact, being afraid can be good. We should be afraid of danger. For example, fear can keep us a safe distance from a mean dog or something else that might hurt us. Being afraid should be a signal to trust Jesus and remember that He is always with us.

When are you most afraid? During those times, remember that Jesus is with you. Tell Him what makes you afraid, and ask for His help.

ACTIVITY
Go on a trust walk! You won't need a map, just a scarf or bandanna and a guide. Your guide could be anybody your family trusts: an older brother or sister, a friend, your mum or your dad. Fold the scarf or bandanna to make a blindfold and tie it over your eyes. No peeking! Hold your guide's hand as he or she leads you around. Your guide must give you clues so you don't bump into things, walk into the street or fall. The more you walk, the more you'll trust your guide. In the same way, the more you walk with Jesus, the more you'll trust Him to guide you.
