Who
Invented Vegetables?
"Prove thy servants, I beseech
thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water
to drink."
Daniel 1 : 12
God created vegetables. Our
bodies need certain kinds of food, just as a car needs a certain
kind of fuel. God gave us vegetables because that's one kind of
fuel our bodies need.
Vegetables provided vitamins & minerals that help us grow
and become strong and healthy. They also give us fiber, which
is the part of plant cells that your body cannot digest. Fiber
carries all the other foods through your digestive system.
God gave us fruits and vegetables to eat so that our bodies would
work properly. You can thank God for wanting to keep you strong
and healthy.
ACTIVITY
It's time to make alphabet soup.. on paper! Write the letters
of the alphabet down the left side of a piece of paper. Now try
to think of at least one vegetable that starts with each letter.
A is for asparagus, B is for beet and so on. When you get stuck,
move on to the next letter or ask other members of your family
to help you. Then ask if you can add some of these items to next
week's shopping list.
