FOREIGN
MISSIONS COMMITTEE
Grace Church foreign mission
committee was formed on 6 November, 2009. Thank God for the following
people who are serving in this committee:
Pastor - Chairman
Elder Soon Huat - Member (China)
Dn Siew Weng - Member (Resource)
Bro Philip Wong - Member (Resource)
Sis Catherine Ng - Member
Sis Jenny Chin - Member (Cambodia)
Sis Tay Boon Jin - Member (Batam)
Sis Katherine Kho - Member (Sect)
Our mission statement:
"Passion for Christ;
Heart for the Lost"
(Phil. 1: 21; Matt. 28: 18-20)
We hope to be able to promote
mission awareness and the involvement of more people in the church,
as well as to provide guidelines in the mission activities of
the church.
Grace Church has a small congregation and in order for us to maximize
our resources, the missions committee has decided to concentrate
on our present missions in Batam, Cambodia and China.
Do pray with us as we have the following persons who are coordinating
with the missionaries in the fields:
For Batam, we have Sis Boon Jin who will work closely with Sis
Ang Liang to explore avenues to support their work for the next
three years. Plans are being made for mission trips in 2010.
For Cambodia, we have Sis Jenny Chin who will be the co-ordinator
with Preacher Chang. The plan for 2010 is to have two mission
trips. (Dates have not been finalised).
For China, we have Elder Soon Huat who will be the co-ordinator.
We thank God for Sis Chew Gim who will be going to China as our
missionary. She has just completed two years of theological studies
with the Singapore Bible College in "Intercultural Studies."
She has visited the place she will be serving for the next one
year, God-willing. Pray for her.
A missions committee is not complete without a resource team.
Dn Siew Weng and Bro Philip Wong will take on this task. They
will source for information on various mission organizations,
mission conferences, prayer items, news letters etc.
Grace Church has always been involved in foreign missions, but
we don't have a committee like this present one to look into the
details of the work. The Session has been at the forefront of
this task until now when the committee is able to handle such
work. Pray for us, brethren.
