What should I say if someone makes fun
Of the Bible?

"But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness & fear:"
I Peter 3 : 14-15

If a friend makes fun of the Bible, you can politely explain how you feel & ask that person to stop. Your friend may not know how special the Bible is to you. This might give you a good opportunity to explain that the Bible comes from God, who created the whole universe, and it's very important to you. You might be the first one to help this person understand that the message in the Bible is for everyone in the world. If your friend doesn't want to listen, it's best to let it pass and just pray for him or her.

Politely but firmly defending God's Word is part of growing as a Christian. God will give you the courage and the words. That's what he's done for his people for thousands of years!

ACTIVITY
It takes practice to talk confidently about the Bible. Suggest to your Sunday School teacher that you do some role plays to practise defending the Bible. Take turns being the kid who brings up questions, and then practise being the kid who explains how special God's Word is.
