If we
prayed to find something we lost,
would we really find it?
"But as one was felling a beam,
the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, & said:
Alas, master! For it was borrowed. And the man of God said:
Where fell it?
And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick,
& cast it in thither & the iron did swim."
II Kings 6 : 5-6
If we lost something &
it was part of God's plan for us to find it, then, yes, we would
find it. No job is too small for God. It is good to pray for what
matters to us, even something small that is lost. God may help
us find it right away or help us remember where we put it. He
also might have us re trace our steps to find it so we will be
more careful next time.
But prayer does not substitute for being careful. Don't say to
yourself: "Oh well, if I lose it, I can ask God to find it
for me". That would be using prayer the wrong way.
ACTIVITY
As your parents if you can make a family lost & found box.
You can do this by decorating a box and labeling it "Lost
& Found" Then, whenever a family member finds something
lying around the house, he or she can put it in the box.
