SERVING THE LORD BEHIND THE SCENE

Dear Gracians, do you know that there are some brethren who are keeping the church clean every week? Every Saturday, they labour hard by maintaining the garden and doing minor repairs. I thank God for these faithful and diligent people who serve the Lord quietly and behind the scene. They love the Lord and His House.

The church maintenance team is under Bro. Richard Y. H. Tan. He and his core of faithful workers maintain the garden and the surrounding premises. There is a need for more people to come forth to serve the Lord in this area. Brethren, if you are keen to be a part of this work force, please approach Bro. Richard Tan. He would be delighted to have additional assistance.

The Lord's House must be maintained. It must be clean always, especially so for the Sunday Worship. Come and serve the Lord in this area.

Thank God that today the garden at the back of the church is filled with fruit trees. We have chiko, red jambu, green jambu and a mango tree. Our fruit trees are flourishing due to the diligence of our helpers. They maintain the garden by cutting the creepers and branches of the neighbour's trees, adding fertilizers and water to the plants, mowing the grasses, etc. It is an on-going task.

I praise the Lord also for our brethren who faithfully prepare the Lord's Supper for the church monthly. Sis. Irene Seah and Elsie Chan have been performing this task for the last 33 years, since the formation of Grace Church in 1976. Sis. Irene Seah also prepares the biscuits from home.

There is another group of ladies who take turns to count the collection of tithes and offerings after the worship service. They will have to miss out on having the refreshment and fellowship with others. Some of these brethren have been doing this since 1976.

Praise the Lord for all the brethren who are serving the Lord in their respective capacity. You have all been a great blessing to the church! It also encourages me! May the Lord bless you richly as you serve Him (Col. 3: 23-24). "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ". (NKJV)
