Why can't we put new books in the Bible?

"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book".
Revelation 22 : 18

We can't put new books in the Bible because the Bible is God's message. It contains His words, which He inspired his people to write in a special way. Some people have tried to put new books in the Bible, but others who recognized that the Bible is a special book kept them from changing it.
God's written story is complete. He has told us all we need to know to help us understand how much He loves us and how we can obey Him. Just think, you can hold God's story in your hand and read it! Today, thank God for giving you His Word.

ACTIVITY
Begin memorizing the names of the books of the Bible. Start with the first 5 books of the Old Testament-Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. Then memorize the names of the first 4 books of the New Testament-Matthew, Mark, Luke and John which are also called the Gospels. Can you find some of your favourite stories in these books.
