Why do people put garbage in their heads
by watching bad movies?

Junk entertainment is like junk food-it tastes good even though it's bad for us. Many people watch garbage on TV and in the movies because they like it, even though it is bad for them. Also, many people watch bad shows because they like the advertisements for those shows. The ads make the shows look good, so they think, "That looks pretty good. I think I would like to see that." But often, the ads are lies-the show is bad.

God wants us to be smart about what we watch. He wants us to recognize junk entertainment for what it is and avoid it, even if it seems fun. He wants us to be careful to do what is right even when something tugs at us to do what is wrong or unwise.

God gave you His Word so you could know what is good and what is bad. His Word gives you wisdom.

ACTIVITY
Have a family Academy Awards night. Talk about the movies you have all seen at the theater and on video. Come up with a list of the 5 best movies and be able to say why they were good.
