GRACE BP YOUTH EVANGELISM EVENT
20TH JUNE 2009

The youth cell group collaborated with the evangelism committee to plan this event held one day prior to the church retreat. The event aimed to cater for an evangelistic programme that youths in Grace could bring their friends to. The event itself consisted of a games session to get to know one another better, followed by dinner and a song presentation with some sharing. The testimony shared during the song presentation was then used as a link by the facilitators to share the gospel to the youth who came.

The event was attended by 18 Gracians and 13 non-Gracians, of whom 7 were non-Christians. It was very encouraging to see the youth invite their friends in the hope of seeing them come to the saving knowledge of Christ.

The games team led by Josiah, planned a programme to break the ice, to get to know the friends our youth brought. The games were instrumental in making everybody feel more comfortable with one another.

The song presentation was led by Daniel who collaborated with Benjamin Tsao from Shalom BP Church. The songs chosen presented the love of God and His gift of salvation.

Through dinner and the song presentation, the facilitators paired up with the youths who brought their friends and from there, shared the gospel with them after Joanne shared her testimony about how she saw a need for a Saviour and that how being a Christian has caused her to live with an eternal perspective in mind. These, with the songs chosen and narrated by Daniel, provided the facilitators with the opportunity to share the gospel.

Through the planning and running of the event , it gave rise to opportunities to work together with fellow friends in Grace and we also had the chance to work with Benjamin from Shalom. Through working together, we thank God for the talents He has given to different individuals so that they can use it for His glory.

Continue to pray for the evangelistic and follow up work that is to be done. Pray also that we can continue to see more youths committed to doing the work of the Lord despite their busy schedules.

Even though the numbers coming seemed dismal and uncertain at times, we thank God for using us as His servants to spread the story of Christ. It was a great joy to see the youth bringing their friends to the event. In planning the event, this uncertainty made things difficult, but we have to learn to trust Him to provide and to use us as His servants.
