VBS OUTING
21st DECEMBER 2009

"O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever."
Psalms 136:1

The day of our VBS follow-up outing began as a wet and rainy one. An hour before the outing began; one parent messaged me on my hand phone to ask if the outing was cancelled. I told her that it was still too early to say and that if the outing was cancelled we were going to have the program in church. (In the end, she did not allow her child to join the program)

God was good. The rain that began in the early morning stopped and we were able to make our way to the Botanical Gardens in very good weather. Knowing that the ground would be too wet for the children to sit on, we made our way to one of three shelters situated near the toilets. By the time we reached there, a few strangers had already occupied two out of the three shelters available. Again we saw the Lord's goodness in providing us with one of the shelters because its seats seemed to be smeared with some brownish substance. We just spread ground sheets on the cement floor and continued with our program.

Out of the twelve VBS children who came, one was from our church. I'm thankful to the Lord who touched the hearts of some of our church members to render their cheerful service at the very last moment. They did this in spite of having served in the very recent VBS and Youth camp as well as various other outreaches that Grace B-P had held over the last few weeks. Their help was a great blessing because out of the 12 who came for the outing, all were active boys except for one girl! God also graciously held back the rain during our activity session until the last 15 minutes of the program. Truly all glory be to God for granting us a wonderful outing. Please pray for wisdom for the follow-up of the VBS children. Many of them cannot come to church on Sundays due to parental objection.
