VBS TESTIMONY
By Bro Cheah Kun Cheng
Thank God for the recent
VBS that took place from 7-9 of December, which was a success
in many ways. Not only that, I also want to thank God for allowing
me to serve Him in VBS.
In this year's VBS, God entrusted Uncle John and myself with a
group of Primary 6 kids. All of them coming from different schools
and family backgrounds. Nevertheless, they learned from one common
source of truth, which is the bible during the 3 days of VBS.
During VBS, I had many opportunities of getting to know some of
the students better through games, lessons and lunchtime conversation.
I have to admit that some of them were quite a handful to manage
compared to the men I have under me in the army camp. However,
I thank God who was the Provider of patience and love to me in
handling them during those times when they misbehaved during the
rehearsal of the skit. If there was one thing that encouraged
me in this VBS, it would be the desire to know and love God coming
from some of the primary 6 kids. Despite coming from Non-Christian
family backgrounds and not having a bible of their own did not
hinder them from wanting to know who their Creator was.
During one of the lessons, I had the opportunity to explain some
of the jargons that were used in the bible and through that opening
I shared the gospel to them. Due to the busyness of preparing
the props needed for the skit, I didn't have the chance to follow
up to their responses to the gospel. However, I did manage to
get their contact numbers so that I can still call and meet up
with them.
Do pray that God will work in Sean and Chin Ken's hearts as I
try to contact them and get follow them up. Also, do pray for
the coming outing on the 21 Dec whereby we can meet the children
who came for the VBS so that we can share the gospel with them
if we missed the chance to do so during VBS as well as following
them up. Lastly, I want to thank the helpers. I really appreciate
their help to lighten the workload so that we can focus on getting
to know the kids and ultimately share the gospel to them.

TESTIMONY AND
REPORT
By Sis Hannah Yeo
VBS 2009 has been another
occasion where God in His mercy has shown His blessings. Prayer
requests had been made for: i) a good number of students to attend.
ii) wisdom to settle a transport problem because our own church
van had already been sold off. iii) more helpers and teachers.
God in His mercy and grace answered all the above and more. He
touched the hearts of brethren who gave to this ministry and we
found that the giving was a blessing to the work in many ways.
It was really encouraging to see Gracians co-operating with one
another in everything. The speakers, teachers, assistant teachers,
youth and game helpers and kitchen helpers gave more than one
hundred percent in all that they did for the Lord. Even those
who could not serve in the VBS fulltime gave in other ways. Kitchen
staff even stayed back to clean the toilets. One couple even came
in the evening just to help clean the toilets. All these helped
to make VBS 2009 an enjoyable one for all especially the students
who came for the three days of VBS. God was very gracious also
to grant teachers an opportunity to share the truth with a number
of children. Out of the 49-51 children who for the 3 VBS days,
7 responded to the gospel. Please pray for wisdom to know how
to follow-up the children who have responded to God's love for
them from this year's VBS as well as from the VBS from other years.
