If I put money in a savings account,
can I get it back?

Trust not in oppression, & become not vain in robbery:
if riches increase, set not your heart upon them".
Psalm 62 : 10

Oh yes, you can get it back! The bank is just a holding place for your money. It's like a big piggy bank. To get money from a savings account, you just go to the bank and fill out a withdrawal slip. The teller gives you the money and the computer keeps track of how much you took out. If you have a checking account, you can write a check anytime you like. If you have an automatic teller machine (ATM) card, you just go to the machine and follow the instructions. The money is yours, and you can always get it.

Remember, the purpose of a savings account is to save for the future. So try not to take money out until you have reached your goal. Don't just trust in your money, though. Trust in God, who owns everything. God will help you save, and he will take care of you no matter what. Remember that God-not money-is your provider. Place your trust in Him.

ACTIVITY
Do you have a savings account? If not, ask your parents to open one for you. If you have an account, decide how much of your allowance you will deposit each month. Then set a goal for your money.
