CHURCH ELECTION
6 December 2009

Praise the Lord for the church election last Sunday. Thank God for the unity of heart and mind as brethren elected the new Session for term of office, 2010-12. We are also grateful to Elder Vincent Lee of Shalom BPC who was the Election Commissioner.

The following persons have been elected in the new Session:

  • Rev Tan Eng Boo-Pastor of Eng/Mand Service
  • Elder Seah Soon Huat
  • Deacon Chea Oei Kiang
  • Deacon Hor Siew Weng
  • Deacon John Tang
  • Deacon Victor Goh

Praise the Lord for these people who have given their service to the Lord in the Session for the next three years. Brethren, pray for the new Session. We need much wisdom to do the work of the Lord. We need the Lord's protection too, as we serve the Lord. The Devil will not be happy and he will certainly not leave us alone. He will discourage the Session members and will also cause trouble and disunity amongst us. Pray for our family too, because he will go after them as we serve the Lord.

The new Session will be dedicated on Christmas Day, 25 December as we have a combined Eng/Mand Service.

The brethren who have been elected as deacons should be addressed as "Deacon". They can be your personal friend and you may be used to addressing them by their personal names, but on official business please address them accordingly.

The Church Session is also the Session of both Eng/Mand Services. We have Elder Soon Huat who has been appointed to chair the Mandarin Service committee, which he has been doing for the last 10 years.

Thank God for the return of Dn John Tang and Dn Victor Goh to the Session. They were in the Session some years ago. We certainly hope to see new faces in the Session in three years time.

May you, as a congregation give your fullest support to Grace Church and the leadership as we enter 2010.
