VBS TESTIMONIES
From teachers, helpers and students

Thank and praise God for the one who has the upper hand of the whole event. Firstly, the Lord gave the increase in the children's attendance and also the helpers. When sister Hannah Yeo was first concerned about the participants, the members in the prayer meeting prayed and each week we heard of the manifold increase in the children's attendances. Praise the Lord for such increase and indeed this is His work and if we are faithful in the preparation and prayer, God will undertake every aspect of the foregoing.

The lessons for the VBS were very enriching. It was also very encouraging to see the different groups of church members helping out in various ways, especially those helping in the kitchen (also not forgetting volunteers who came in to help clean up the premises after each day's event), providing meal after meal efficiently and sufficiently.

Indeed this VBS event cannot be successful without God's blessings to people who put in their love and patience (with the kids and also among one another) to do this work. It is our continual prayer that the grace of God that bringeth salvation will appear to the hearts of those that the Lord desires to open to receive His gospel of peace which mankind needs so much.

I enjoyed the VBS. My teacher was James. I liked Ai Lin's lessons, they were very creative and interesting. I learnt about Noah's Ark, Noah was a just and perfect man that found favour in the eyes of the Lord. I learnt that we need to be responsible and put God first in our hearts. I also learnt that Noah did all that God commanded and did not turn aside from God's command although the people jeered at him. That made me realize that I must really listen to the Lord because whenever I tried to obey God, my friends will always tell me to do the opposite and I will give in. Noah's behaviour made a big impression on me.

I also thank God for protecting everyone and me during VBS. I also thank God that I managed to sleep during the stay over. It really was noisy in the room I slept in.

Most of all I thank all the helpers and teachers. They were very kind and helpful. I hope that more non-Christian children will attend the VBS next year to learn God's word and someday, be converted to be Christians.!

My name is Feng Qing. I'm 10 years old. I love VBS very much because in VBS I learn a lot of things. I enjoy this camp very much.
My favorite part is the Bible lesson. I did not regret coming to church.

I enjoyed the VBS. The teachers were kind, good and fun. During the art 'n' craft it was . . . Fun! Though my ship was simple . . . it managed to pass the tests given by Ailin. . . During lessons, I learnt about responsibility and more about God's word, memory verses and many others. But the P6 are slacking even me. [However] I feel very happy to be able to come here. To be precise, I am also glad to be a Christian.

This year's VBS was very fun and exciting. I especially enjoyed the barbecue this year. Although I was the only girl sleeping over, I really enjoyed myself. I had fun making lots of friends and chit-chatting with them and some of the teachers.

However, this VBS was different this year as the topic was very far from what I had expected. It was teaching us about our attitudes, the camp theme song, "Work on Your Attitudes" tell us exactly how to behave and treat others. We were also taught many memory verses which I think is very effective to our lives if we find a way to apply it into our lives.

It was really meaningful, I admit (I wasn't too willing to join the camp at first:)) I'm sure that everyone who joined the camp will not regret they came!

This VBS, though a little hectic, however was one event which I saw God's providence. From the request for helpers to the preparation for Presentation Night, everything just fell into place, thanks to God working silently behind the scenes.

This year, I was allocated to take care of the Primary 2 children. It was simply refreshing to see them being so enthusiastic about Bible Class, as they learnt about God's creation, man's sin and God's redemption plan throughout the three days. Apart from the Bible lessons, the children were occupied with Games, Art & Craft, as well as the highly anticipated chocolate fondue.

Interacting with the children, it has showed me their innocence and their excitement every time the Bible is read. And this got me thinking, as to whether as we grow older, do we take the Bible for granted, or have we lost our zeal in knowing more about the Bible?

All in all, VBS 2009 was a blast and I am happy to be "a tiny spec in the beautiful painting with God as the ultimate creator" (as shared by our wonderful camp master).
