CHRISTMAS 2007

This Christmas has been a blessed one for all of us in Grace church. Although we were very busy, it was well worth the effort. All gracians did their part in helping one way or another in making Christmas a meaningful one. I am thankful to the Lord for the opportunity of reaching out to the non-Christians.

Thank God for the evangelism committee and their planning of all the different Christmas programmes and activities. Many of you also came forth to help the evangelism com in making the event work. Thank you for your service unto the Lord.

Thank God also for the carollers who went through many practice sessions and sang so well during the carolling. The three homes and one neighbour's home where the carollers sang were much blessed with the carols. In fact the neighbour's home wanted the carollers to stay longer. We had opportunities to share with all these people the meaning of Christmas, and they were given each a Gospel booklet.

The Christmas eve gathering for BBQ and carolling was indeed blessed of the Lord. We had fine weather for that occasion while the day before the rains were coming in the late afternoon and evening. Thank God for a good turn out and time of sharing the Word and carolling together with some brethren rendering solo pieces.

The Christmas service on the 25 December was the highlight of our church Christmas event. The church was pack to full capacity from both English and Mandarin Services. Many had to use the AV room as there wasn't enough space in the Sanctuary. Thank God for the Gospel message by Rev Goh. There were many non-Christians who came.

I thank God for all the brethren who contributed food items for the Christmas lunch. I saw many ushers and gracians giving a helping hand to arrange chairs, tables etc. Many stayed back to help clean up the church after the lunch. Thank God for the willingness and the efforts of God's people in making an important event like this a success.

Let us pray for those who have heard the Word that they will consider the Gospel seriously. Pray for their salvation.

Pray for some of these people to return to church again. Some have heard the Gospel before.

I am thankful to the Lord for the unity we have manifested in our church in His work. May the Lord continue to use Grace church for the furtherance of His Kingdom.

As we come into 2008, the Session has considered the need for our church to reach out to our non-Christian parents and family members. That would be the emphasis next year. Pray for the evangelism committee as they plan to make this outreach effective.

There is no greater joy than to see our own loved ones coming to know Jesus Christ as their own personal Lord and Saviour. Pray for this outreach. Pray for wisdom in planning. Pray for brethren to come forth to give a helping hand once again.
